Music BC in partnership with Honda Celebration of Light will be giving two local artists/bands the opportunity of a lifetime. Musicians across the province can now apply to be selected to play on The Park Stage at Second Beach during the Honda Celebration of Light.
On Wednesday July 31st, in celebration of it being Canada’s night to light up the sky, selected winning musicians will fill two performance slots at The Park Stage. This event gives local talent a chance to play in front of thousands of people in an all ages, public venue this summer.
Winners will be announced on June 3. In addition to performing on The Park Stage, the selected artists will receive an honorarium along with applicable brand recognition. Applicants must be available to play on Wednesday July 31st in order to be considered. All genres, cultures, and other measures of diversity are encouraged to apply.
About the Honda Celebration of Light: The Honda Celebration of Light is BC’s largest public event and the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world. It attracts up to 400,000 spectators along English Bay each evening. Owned and planned by the volunteer, not for profit Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society, 2019 represents the 29th consecutive year of the event, which contributes in excess of $40 million in incremental tourism and hospitality spending each year. The pyrotechnic competition is produced by Archangel Fireworks Inc, with the Honda Celebration of Light event produced by Vancouver-based BRANDLIVE Management Group.
