The Music Assistance Program (MAP) provides exclusive funding and opportunities to Music BC paid members. MAP assists eligible members in the areas of travel funding, demo recording, showcase opportunities, compilation opportunities and more!

PEAK Travel Grant
Thanks to a generous donation from the Pattison Broadcasting Group’s station 100.5 The PEAK, we are able to offer funding deadlines for artist and business travel. These grants are to provide assistance to BC based recording artists and BC owned businesses to participate in performance and showcasing initiatives that are undertaken in support of BC owned sound recordings.

Post Media National Playlist
Music BC, Hevy D and Post Media newspapers from across Canada are teaming up to feature upcoming Canadian talent! Music BC members are invited to submit their songs to be offered for free download, advertised online and in a weekly print ad.

Canadian Music Week (CMW) Showcasing Opportunity
Every year Music BC holds a showcase of BC artists during Canadian Music Week. One spot is reserved for an eligible Music BC member to showcase their talents. Past artists include: Mother Mother, Hedley, Dan Mangan, Daniel Wesley, We Are the City and many more. CMW is held in March of each year, and applications typically open in the Fall prior.
Music BC Compilation Program
In the past Music BC has produced an annual compilation CD that was distributed at various industry events and conferences. For 2011, we will be launching a variation on this program, moving into the digital world! Stay tuned for more information.
Music BC Demo Program
The Demo Program assists new BC artists with the production of a high quality demo recording used to present to key music industry professionals to secure recording, publishing and live performance agreements. Artists are teamed up with local producers and studios who donate their time to create a professional demo recording (minimum of 3 songs).

Rifflandia Showcase Opportunity
The fourth annual Rifflandia Festival took place September 22 – 25, 2011, in Victoria BC.
Music BC proudly presented some of BC’s great emerging talent with a showcase at the Victoria Events Centre on Saturday, September 24th 2011. One showcase slot was reserved for a Music BC member, decided on by jury of industry professionals. Look for this opportunity again next year!
