Erin Kinghorn started her career in music by promoting shows for the University of Northern British Columbia. For the past 6 years she has held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for Nettwerk Music Group. Artists/Groups that she has worked closely with include Sarah McLachlan, Be Good Tanyas, Swollen Members, Tiesto and Delerium. Recently, Erin has moved to Toronto to become the General Manager of the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR) one of the largest non-profit organizations supporting the development of the Canadian independent music industry. Erin is also very involved within the community. Currently, she sits on the Senate of the University of Northern British Columbia, Trade Team Canada - Cultural Industry and has held seats on the Music BC board of directors and the Advisory Board for Transmission..

Terry O’Brien has over thirty years experience in the music industry as a music publisher, composer, musician and recording artist, producer, DJ, consultant and teacher, as well as wholesale and retail music sales. Prior to joining SOCAN in 2000, Terry held the position of Vice President & General Manager of BMG Music Publishing Canada Inc. During his time at BMG, Terry was also a Director of the Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA), BMG Recording Canada and sat as an Executive Board Member of the Canadian Music Publishers Association (CMPA). He has served twice as a Juno Awards judge, a FACTOR Super Jury member and has appeared on numerous panels for SOCAN, Canadian Music Week, New Music West, North by Northeast, New Forms Festival, Western Canadian Music Week, Winter Music Conference and Canadian Country Music Week, among others. In 2002 Terry returned again to his creative roots and has since released three independent CDs of ambient soundscapes on his own micro label, Disappearing Music.

Frank Peebles is a writer and journalist whose coverage of music and the arts has won provincial and national awards. He has been a music critic and contributing writer for newspapers, magazines and books for more than 15 years, covering every genre from country to classical to Cuban.

In addition to covering the local, national and international music industry he also takes part as a live performer and recording artist. He has held roles in musical theatre and drama productions, performed live as a spoken word artist with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, wrote and performed a one-hand music-based play, and has a spoken-word CD set for release in late 2008/early'09.


As a media and marketing consultant he has formally advised numerous artists from emerging indie acts to Juno Award winners, concert promoters and music festivals, from a WHL hockey team to the provincial government.
He also takes his kids to piano lessons and "plays band" with anything that goes bang-jingle-twang around the house.

Frank's industry training was in radio broadcasting but these days you can find Frank in the print media world, based at the Prince George Citizen.

Steve Dickson has been in the music industry for 26 years and has worked on both sides of the Atlantic. He has also consulted in the Middle East and South East Asia. He now resides in North Vancouver where his company PHD Canada is based. Steve's resume includes 15 years in senior positions in the UK with two of the country's most successful independent distribution companies: Pinnacle Records and Plastic Head Music Distribution. He is still very involved in the UK music industry and travels there regularly. He also owns 20% of Fierce Panda Records in London, England. Fierce Panda is one of the UK's leading independent labels and responsible for launching the careers of Keane and Coldplay.

Steve has worked with a wide range of artists including Barry White, Metallica, Elvis Costello, Frank Zappa, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Offspring, Kylie Minogue and John Lee Hooker. He has also been involved with 63 of the albums recently featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

PHD Canada is one of the country's top independent distribution companies, and is the biggest importer of CDs, LPs, DVDs and merchandise into Canada. The company also has unique and diverse interests including three in-house record labels: The Foundry, Avocado and Frontline Productions. PHD Canada's revenue is in excess of $2.5 million dollars per annum.

Steve has also been a director of Music BC for 4 years and attends Midem in Cannes, France every year.
