- About the Music Industry Travel Assistance Program (MITAP)
Music BC also provides and facilitates funding opportunities that are open to the general public of British Columbia. MITAP is a travel funding program administered on behalf of the Province of BC, by Music BC that provides separate travel funding opportunities for ARTISTS and music industry BUSINESS purposes.
- Previous Deadline: FRIDAY MAY 21st, 2010 (5pm pst)
Complete applications must be received by Music BC by 5pm on the deadline date, not postmarked by. No fax or email MITAP applications will be accepted. No exceptions will be made under any circumstances.
- MITAP Artist Travel Grants
The grant provides assistance to recording artists to participate in performance, and showcasing initiatives that are undertaken in support of recordings. This MITAP program is specifically for bands/artists who are seeking travel assistance money for tours or showcases. Domestic: anywhere in Canada. International: anywhere outside of Canada
There are four (4) MITAP–ARTIST programs under which to apply:
- Tour Only Domestic = $2000 Tour Only International = $4000
- Showcase Only Domestic = $1000 Showcase Only International = $4000
- Tour/Showcase Domestic = $2000 Tour/Showcase International = $4000
- Promotional Tour Domestic = $2000 Promotional Tour International = $4000

- MITAP Business Travel Grants
The grant provides assistance to BC based music businesses to participate in conferences in order to support BC recording artists. This program is for BC based music industry organizations and businesses who are seeking travel assistance money to attend conferences in order to support BC recording artists. MITAP Business Travel grants are limited to 50% of the total eligible expenses to a maximum of $1000.
