The Music Assistance Program (MAP) provides exclusive funding and opportunities only to Music BC paid members. The Music Assistance Program assist eligible members in the areas of demo recording, cd manufacturing, showcase opportunities, distribution, compilation opportunities & many more!
- Travel Grant - Thanks to a generous donation from the Pattison Broadcasting Group’s station 100.5 The Peak, we are able to offer funding deadlines for the 2010/2011 season. Music BC has been able to set aside $15,000 for these deadlines which will provide assistance to BC based recording artists to participate in performance and showcasing initiatives that are undertaken in support of BC owned sound recordings. THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS ARE: FRIDAY OCTOBER 1st 2010 and FRIDAY FEBRUARY 4th 2011 by 5pm (pst) Click here to download the guidelines and application form.
- Canadian Music Week (CMW) Showcasing Opportunity – Every year Music BC holds a showcase of BC artists during Canadian Music Week. One spot is reserved for an eligible Music BC member to showcase their talents. Past artists include: Hedley, Dan Mangan, Daniel Wesley, Limblifter, Leeroy Stagger & many more.
- Music BC Compilation Program - Successful applicants will have one track included in the Music BC compilation. This compilation will be made available at the MIDEM conference in Cannes, France, CMW, SXSW, Juno Awards events,Grammy Awards events, and also available at various Canadian Consulates. The compilation will be available as a promotional CD only and not for sale.
- Make a Case Against Racism – Music BC Industry Association is administering this component of the “Music Against Racism” Project on behalf of the Multiculturalism and Inclusive Communities Office, Ministry of Citizens’ Services and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism and the Public Affairs Bureau. The Music Against Racism Project is a component of the “Make a Case Against Racism” activity kit which addresses Grades 4 – 7 curriculum objectives in British Columbia. This project is to promote multiculturalism, cultural diversity, and awareness of racism in BC. 10 songs will be selected by a peer jury for a compilation CD and download.
- Hevy D Province Playlist – Music BC, the Province Newspaper and HevyD Kettle Korn have teamed up to feature BC artists every Tuesday in the Province newspaper, and online at the Province.com. Selected artists offer one free mp3 download. Seasonal opportunities may also arise, featuring holiday themes. Click Here for details.
