The Music Assistance Program (MAP) provides exclusive funding only to Music BC paid members. The Music Assistance Program assist eligible members in the areas of demo recording, cd manufacturing, showcase opportunities, distribution, compiliation opportunities & many more!
- Travel Grant - Thanks to a generous donation from the Pattison Broadcasting Group’s station 100.5 The Peak, we are able to offer at least one funding deadline this spring. Music BC has been able to set aside $12,500 for this deadline which will provide assistance to BC based recording artists to participate in performance and showcasing initiatives that are undertaken in support of BC owned sound recordings. - Canadian Music Week (CMW) Showcasing Opportunity – Every year Music BC holds a showcase of BC artists during Canadian Music Week. One spot is reserved for an eligible Music BC member to showcase their talents. Past artists include: Hedley, Dan Mangan, Daniel Wesley, Limblifter, Leeroy Stagger & many more. - Music BC Compilation Program - Successful applicants will have one track included in the Music BC compilation. This compilation will be made available at the MIDEM conference 2009 in Cannes, France, CMW 2009, SXSW 2009, 2009 Juno Awards events in Vancouver, and also available at various Canadian Consulates. - Make a Case Against Racism – Music BC Industry Association is administering this component of the “Music Against Racism” Project on behalf of the Multiculturalism and Inclusive Communities Office, Ministry of Citizens’ Services and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism and the Public Affairs Bureau. The Music Against Racism Project is a component of the “Make a Case Against Racism” activity kit which addresses Grades 4 – 7 curriculum objectives in British Columbia. This project is to promote multiculturalism, cultural diversity, and awareness of racism in BC. 10 songs will be selected by a peer jury for a compilation CD and download.
