Are you connecting with your audience or are you just yelling at them? This session will explore how artists can use social media to define their brand and create genuine moments with fans. Forget simply pushing out a message and hoping that it gains traction! We’ll dig into how to cultivate relationships and a develop a committed fan base via the latest and most relevant platforms.
New for 2014, the Whistler Film Festival in partnership with Music BC has added the WFF Music Café to its roster and is excited to announce the British Columbia musicians selected to participate at this year’s one-day event during the Whistler Film Festival (December 3-7, 2014). This unique and intimate event puts the focus on placements of songs into feature films, TV shows, documentaries and any filmed media during the festival.

Songwriters of all levels are welcome to come participate in a workshop designed to inspire your creativity and hone your craft! Hear our mentors share their secrets on the songwriting process, and how they work their ideas into memorable pieces of music. Attendees are welcome to bring an instrument and share a song to receive feedback on (as time allows).
Songwriters Circle: 2:00-3:30pm
After hearing them speak about the process, see it live in action as our songwriters share their favourite songs, tell the stories about how they came to be, and collaborate together for what is sure to be a unique performance from these talented artists.

Maggie Mae’s on Friday March 14th and The Velveeta Room on Saturday March 15th are stacked with BC artists.

Music BC is excited to be teaming up with BreakOut West and it’s partners (Alberta Music, SaskMusic, and Music Manitoba) to present the finest folk from western canada at this year’s Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City, MO.
We will be featuring 12 BC artists in 2 BreakOut West private suites, in afternoon and late night showcases.
