This is a very important event for our organization, and we rely on our members to come out and support their industry association! At our AGM we take care of business such as:
- - Vote in our board of directors, who make important decisions about the direction of Music BC
- - Hear reports on all the projects and opportunities that we provided for the 2012/2013 year
- - Bring up your suggestions on what we could do to improve the services to our members
- - Review and approve the association’s financials
The meeting will be followed by a members only reception at a nearby location – however you have to attend to find out where it will be!

For 5 Thursdays throughout September and October, we will showcase our Top 20 bands at Fortune Sound Club. These performances will form a part of their overall scores so make sure you come out and support your favourites!

On Saturday, July 13th you can check out the Top 20 artists from this year’s PEAK Performance Project all performing live at Vancouver’s Khatsahlano Festival! It’s a free event that takes place on West 4th Ave between Burrard and MacDonald St, and features twelve stages showcasing more than 50 of Vancouver’s top musical performers, plus eclectic pods of distinctive local artisans, street performers and a host of other festivities.
You will find the PEAK stages at Balsam and 4th Ave!

Bob D’Eith, Executive Director of Music BC, entertainment lawyer, recording artist and author will speak about sustaining a career in the music business and how to bridge the gap between art and commerce.
Brian Thompson, the guy behind music marketing site Thorny Bleeder and The DIY Daily newsletter and podcast, will speak to the importance of how an artist approaches their online marketing and social media presence, and what the jazz community can to do best reach their demographic and grow their audience.
