mission folk 2014Music BC is pleased to partner with Mission Folk Festival to offer a unique performance opportunity for our members in the folk/roots community. Music BC programs a paid showcase event Saturday afternoon consisting of 3 folk acts, chosen by an industry jury to perform at the festival. 3 artists will be selected to perform 45 minute sets at Mission Folk Festival.One of the three will be chosen to perform at the CBC Nooner stage in downtown Vancouver and receive a tour of the CBC studios.

Songwriting Workshop: 12:00-1:30pm
Songwriters of all levels are welcome to come participate in a workshop designed to inspire your creativity and hone your craft! Hear our mentors share their secrets on the songwriting process, and how they work their ideas into memorable pieces of music. Attendees are welcome to bring an instrument and share a song to receive feedback on (as time allows).

Songwriters Circle: 2:00-3:30pm
After hearing them speak about the process, see it live in action as our songwriters share their favourite songs, tell the stories about how they came to be, and collaborate together for what is sure to be a unique performance from these talented artists.
