Music BC prides itself in educating those who are looking to build a career in the music industry. We do this through a variety of workshops and panels, focusing on a wide range of topics and genres.
Career Development Series – Vancouver
Music BC presents a series of professional development seminars for those in the music community of all ages and experience levels, usually held at the Tom Lee Music Hall on Granville St in Vancouver. Usually happening the spring and summer months, the series includes four different events focusing on a range of topics, which have included: Networking, Touring, Distribution, Production, Songwriting, Social Media, Publishing, Licensing for Film & TV and more! Each seminar is conducted by an established industry mediator, and features top industry professionals from all areas of the business. Each CDS offers the unique opportunity to learn from the best in your field and ask the questions you’ve been wanting to know. The Career Development Seminar is free to members of Music BC and $25 for non-members.

Through the generosity of our Kelowna satellite office and it’s volunteers, we are able to hold occasional seminars at the Habitat in Kelowna. We also partner with BC festivals, to bring an educational component to their events! Such festivals have included Rifflandia in Victoria, the Merritt MountainFest, and Arts Wells,

Several times a year we have small gatherings here in the Music BC Vancouver office to focus on a specific topic or genre, such as Hip-Hop, Aboriginal, FACTOR Funding, Live Performance Coaching and more!
