Music BC will once again be teaming up with the Mission Folk Festival to present some of the best of BC folk music. New to this year, selected artists will also perform at a CBC Nooner concert at the plaza stage in Vancouver.

3 artists will be selected to receive the following:

• 45 minute showcase at Mission Folk Festival on Saturday July 27th
• 15 minute set at CBC Nooner Plaza Concert Stage in the week of July 22-26th
• Tour of CBC studios on date of performance
• $500 performance honourarium

Music BC and K96-3 are proud to announce the 5 artists who will participate in the inaugural year of the K96-3 Emerging Artist Program!

These artists will be teamed up with a producer and studio from interior BC to record 2 master quality sound recordings, receive $500 in cash support, play a showcase at Festival Kelowna’s Parks Alive! Series, attend a day long educational intensive on the music industry, and have the chance to win first place which would include $4000 cash, a Gibson Les Paul guitar, a showcase slot at Rifflandia Festival in Kelowna,  and more!

The Music Industry Travel Assistance Program (“MITAP”) is administered by the Music BC Industry Association on behalf of the Province of British Co­lumbia.
MITAP provides assistance to BC based recording artists to participate in performance and showcasing initiatives that are undertaken in support of BC owned sound recordings. MITAP also assists BC based music businesses to partici­pate in conferences and other business travel in order to support BC based recording artists.
