MAP Travel Grant Deadline Sept. 11/09
Thanks to a generous donation from the Pattison Broadcasting Group’s station 100.5 The Peak, we are able to offer at least one funding deadline this spring. Music BC has been able to set aside $12,500 for this deadline which will provide assistance to BC based recording artists to participate in performance and showcasing initiatives that are undertaken in support of BC owned sound recordings.
There are three (3) MAP programs to apply for:
1) Artist Tour Only (Domestic or International)
2) Artist Showcase Only (Domestic or International)
3) Artist Tour/Showcase (Domestic or International)
A recording artist, group or individual may receive assistance under this program once perfiscal year. (April 1, 2009 – March 31, 2010).
Companies, representatives, managers, labels, publishers or distributors may be eligible for multiple artists for artist touring, showcasing and promotion but may only be eligible for one business travel grant in any given fiscal year. No applicant may receive further assistance under this program if an application from a previous MITAP deadline remains incomplete.
MAP contributions are limited to 50% of the total eligible expenses to a maximum of:
1) Tour Only Domestic=$1500 | Tour Only International = $2000
2) Showcase Only Domestic=$1000 | Showcase Only International = $2000
3) Tour & Showcase Domestic=$1500 | Tour & Showcase International = $2000
Applications must be received on or before the deadline AND prior to the initiative taking place.
THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS ARE: FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2009 by 5pm (pst)
All applications must be RECEIVED BY Music BC by the deadline. Not postmarked by. Absolutely no exceptions will be made.
Applicants must have a current membership with Music BC in good standing.

Music BC members! Here’s your chance to have your music heard by music supervisors for film, TV and video games! We will be updating our current streaming site (www.musicfrombc.com) and want to include your songs!

Deadline to submit: Friday, July 10th 2009, 11:59 pm pst.
Requirements
- * Must be a current paid Music BC member
- * The music submitted should be mastered quality, radio-ready recordings
- * Song/Album must have been released within the past 24 months (or will be released within the next 3 months)
- * If you were previously selected for the Music From BC site, you ARE eligible to submit again, however it must be with a different song.
- * If the recording is not one-stop, it is still eligible, but please include all of the publishing/rights details
- *Only one song/submission per artist please!
*Note: “One-Stop” means you own all of the rights to your song. If you have a publishing or record deal and need them to sign off on contracts, you are not considered one-stop.

Music BC is participating again in this year’s Vancouver Island Music Business Conference in Comox, BC from June 24th – 28th
Our Executive Director Bob D’Eith will be speaking at a number of seminars that weekend, as well as Music BC board member Terry O’Brien from SOCAN.
