Music BC Charitable Foundation supports the “Adopt an Instrument” program that provides instruments to public schools, and the Burt Harris Memorial Scholarship Fund, that awards annual scholarships to young musicians who wish to pursue a career in music through professional private or post-secondary study.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Pattison Broadcasting Group’s station 100.5 The Peak, we are able to offer 2 deadlines for this travel funding program. The program is designed to provide assistance to BC based recording artists to participate in performance and showcasing initiatives that are undertaken in support of BC owned sound recordings.

THE DEADLINES FOR APPLICATION ARE:

• FRIDAY OCTOBER 1st, 2010 (closed)
  
• FRIDAY FEBRUARY 4th, 2011

All applications must be RECEIVED BY Music BC by 5:00 pm (pst) on the deadline.

Music BC Members can apply to be featured on our website and weekly enews!

Here’s how:

Featured Artist and Business Applications

We have two sections: Featured Artist, and Featured Business.  Artists will also be featured in our weekly enews.

• Rules:
  1) Must be a current paid member of Music BC
  2) Members will likely not be selected more than once per year
  3) Priority will be given to artists with upcoming events or news to promote
  4) Artist/Business must have a myspace or personal website page
  5) Application does not guarantee inclusion, selection is at Music BC’s discretion.

• How to Apply:
  Send the following to info@musicbc.org
  1) Artist or Business info and Music BC member number
  2) Link to Myspace page or website
  3) A banner will be used on our website. Banner specifics: Must be jpg or gif; 72 dpi resolution; 300px wide x 90px high; no gradients; no animated banners. *If you aren’t able to make one, you can still apply – send an image or logo you might like included, but note the final appearance will be at our discretion and will not be available for approval before use.*

Featured Video Applications

The new Music BC website now also features a video of the week!  We will also try to post the video to our Music BC facebook and twitter pages.  Videos can be music videos, live footage, or other music-related creativity, as long as they follow the requirements below:

• Rules:
  1) Must be music of a current paid member of Music BC
  2) Members will likely not be selected more than once per year
  3) Video must be appropriate for ALL AGES – lyrically and visually
  4) Video must be hosted by YouTube
  5) Application does not guarantee inclusion, selection is at Music BC’s discretion.
  6) You must have full permission to post this video. If you do not own the masters to the music in this video, or have rights to use the footage, we will not accept it.

• How To Apply:
  Send the following to info@musicbc.org
  1) Artist info (Name, Website) and Music BC member number
  2) Link to YouTube. DO NOT send actual video clip.
