Renata Mills – Festivals Kelowna/ Parks Alive/ Canada Day
“Renata Mills is the Executive Director of Festivals Kelowna, a non-profit society which produces community-focused festivals and events, such as Celebrate Canada Day – Kelowna and Parks Alive! Through these and other small and large-scale events, Ms. Mills has been involved in booking performers and producing live performances for over 13 years. Her experience includes working with established artists like David Usher, Colin James, the Powder Blues Band, Jim Byrnes, Long John Baldry, and 54.40, to local developing artists. As a fan of all kinds of music, Renata thinks Kelowna can’t be beat when it comes to the depth of musical talent we have in our fair city.”

We will be showing a portion of Tom Jacksons “Live performance” DVD’s. For over 20 years, Tom Jackson has had a unique niche in the music industry. His work as a Live Music Producer has helped shape the public presentation of many of today’s artists from the stage. Helping artists “create memorable moments,” Tom’s teaching and consulting has influenced artists from numerous genres for tours, events, and showcases.
Each session will end with a 30 minute group brainstorming session with to ask any questions you have about the music industry hosted by Ryan Donn.
Admission is free with Music BC membership or a valid student ID.
$10 for everyone else. Pretty much the cost of two cups of coffee to get some great inside information.

Eligibility Requirements
Tom is looking for 1 band and 1 solo artist to get up on stage and get their performance critiqued. Band/artist chosen needs to be teachable, willing to learn and humble in receiving new information. Please note that each band/artist chosen will not necessarily receive the same amount of time onstage. It will all depend on the flow of the seminar and how quickly each band/artist takes in the information. Please realize that Tom is putting you onstage as guinea pig artists for the good of the whole group.
Performers would need to be available on Sunday June 13th, 2010 from 11:30am – 4:00pm
Must be a current paid Music BC member
All applicants must be 19+ (no minors)
Deadline: Friday May 21st, 2010 (5pm pst)
