FACTOR Grants 101 – Wednesday, May 5th 5:30pm-7pm
Music BC is continuing our series of 2010 in-house seminars in our Vancouver office with a session hosted by Executive Director Bob D’Eith covering the fundamentals of applying for FACTOR grants. He will be covering all the basic steps and necessities in order to hand in a well-crafted application, which can help improve your chances of receiving a grant from FACTOR.
The seminar is free for Current Paid Music BC members, $25 for non-members who can get on the standby list and can attend if the seats are not all filled by members. Due to limited seating, priority will be given to those who are currently working on applications for the May 14th and May 31st deadlines. Those who are accepted will receive a confirmation email.

The Aboriginal Music Industry with Elaine Bomberry & Bob D’Eith – Wednesday April 28th, 5:30-7pm
This first workshop for Aboriginal Musicians by Music BC will focus on introducing the importance of the work of Music Industry Associations (MIA) across Canada and how they can enhance a Musicians career. Elaine Bomberry will discuss the overall impact of the Aboriginal Music industry. (Creator of the Best Music of Aboriginal Canada JUNO category in 1993, former Board of Directors for the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, and producer of Rez Bluez TV on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network). In addition, Music BC Executive Director Bob D’Eith will give a presentation of the state of the Canadian music industry.
